Al-Tahadi University has been established as a branch of Garyonis University in 1989. It has been separated as an independent University in 1992 as (Altahadi University). Since then, It is in a continuous expansion, Thanks to the Great revolution of Al-Fateh and it is extreme care to the scientific institutions a new faculties and department have been made, and the scientific staff and students increased a consequently, the University consist of (11) which are:
1- Faculty of Medicine.
2- Faculty of Dental.
3- Faculty of medical technology.
4- Faculty of Law.
5- Faculty of Engineering, Sirt.
6- Faculty of Science, Sirt.
7- Faculty of Art and Education, Sirt.
8- Faculty of Economy and account.
9- Faculty of Education and Science, Hun, Branch.
10- Faculty of Education and Science, Wedan, Branch.
11- Faculty of Education and Science, Sirte.
These faculties consist of (7652) student, taught by (402) qualified university staff. (102) National staff, (124) foreign staff, (101) Borrowed staff and (77) co-operative staff from all over the Libyan Universities. Add to that (1162) adminstration staff who help the stuff to achieve the maximum benefit. Besides, (209 teacher assistants in various fields prepared to complete their high study like their colleges who has been sent by the university to achieve the high education abroad, wile anther (565) is studying at the Libyan universities, Due to the great efforts of the supervisors of the high education and the support of the university popular committee, (101) students has achieved the (MA) degree in various scientific and humanitarian fields.
   The university provides it is student with about (100000) various and different titles in it is libraries which are continuously increasing. Moreover, it provides it is students with internet service, a modern way for international knowledge and education.
Due to the development and examination mechanism of the university and educational to follow the construction evolution the university has signed a contract to establish a new modern city campus according to the latest international standard, to be a distinguished scientific construction.
