Study and examinations department

ImageThe department is headed by Dr. Ramadan El-amyal (Assistant professor in surgery). The department has the responsibility for planning and evaluation of the curriculum structure through the academic year which starts in October and finishes in August including the interval of the final examinations. The following shows the study curriculum in each study interval. The study is divided into three intervals after the medical preparatory year:
1- First interval: first and second medical year = 2 academic years
   - Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Histology, English and political awareness.
2- Second interval: Third year = one academic year
   - Pharmacology, microbiology, pathology, parasitology and political awareness.
3- Third interval: Clinical study (fourth and fifth year): = 2 clinical years
   - Fourth year:
      - Ophthalmology, Obstetric & Gynecology, Forensic medicine and Community medicine.
4- Fifth year:
- Medicine, Surgery and Paediatric.
Students those pass these study intervals join one-year internal-ship programme where they spend it in different medical branches at the hospital

Development project within the University, the challenge is expected to be having an independent building of the Faculty of Medicine, in architecture to the latest architectural techniques and modern scientific techniques and a capacity suitable for the growing number of students, and designs to suit the disciplines covered by the college.
